Had to completely do my Flylady daily routine sheets from scratch. I had wanted to update them to better fit us now but couldn't find the originals anywhere on the puter. That's all done and now I'm off to face the day.
MWAH!
My aim over the next month is to stay away from computer and phone as much as possible. Not completely, but my blog list, for instance, just got pared down considerably. Don't be upset if I don't comment much, I'm probably still reading. The phone isn't going to be a complete no no but I can't spend an hour or more on it, at least not while the kids are awake. I will still blog here. I may have to do more of the "type a bit-save as a draft-come back later-type a bit" etc. for a while.
So, what've we done today. Took the girls to school and the Lizzy and I went pansy shopping. We bought some orange, purple, burgandy and some yellow/purple ones. Took those all home and spent about an hour replacing some dead zinnias in the backyard. Picked up Emily from school, had a yummy grilled chicken romaine salad. Need to put Lizzy down for a nap and then Emily and I will get back out in the yard to plant the rest of the flowers.
I need to mow the grass, weedeat and edge. I will not be mowing the grass unless Steven is home. We've had a problem with our lawnmower, involving the wheels. See, when you are driving a lawnmower around the yard you never expect the wheels to come off. But, yes, ours have done that. Both of the front tires have come off (one each time on two seperate occasions) while mowing the front yard. Freaky, freaky feeling.
Hell House has been a tiresome but well worth it effort. We still have all this week to get through. But, the first night 8 people gave their lives to Jesus. Second night, 22, and similar numbers (can't remember exactly) the next nights. I'm pleased to be a part of the ministry but man oh man am I tired.
I don't have any cute kid stories right now. I'll work on some more though. I know that's why you come here. That and those cute kid pictures. I know, I know, I've become used to the fact. Heh.

More precisely, where have all the polite people gone? When did it become customary to assume that everything was "about you" all the time? I'll give you a for instance. Wal-Mart. Nothing irritates me more (okay, maybe a few things) than most of the other shoppers there. When I come to the end of the aisle, I don't just shove my cart out and assume that I have the right of way. I get as close as I can and peek as far as I can to make sure noone else is coming. Then if I do, by accident, pull out in front of someone, GASP, I apologize.
Treat it like the highway, people. Oh wait, there are just as many rude people behind the wheel. Scratch that.
Today is a half day at school, for both kids. They get their report cards and then the rest of the afternoon is devoted to parent/teacher conferences. Our appointment is at 3:45.
The girls are excited to say the least. We've got one more night of "at home" time before the HellHouse ministry starts. Then only two days between now and November will we be at home in the evening. There's a performance every night except this Sunday and this coming Thursday. We'll all be good and whooped when this is over. On week nights the performances start at 6 and end at 10. Weekends they run from 6-11:30. Then the last night (Halloween) they run from 6-12. Steven's going to have a hard time getting up at 5 after being up so late. But it's oh so worth it. This has the potential to reach a lot of people. I'm happy to be a part of something so exciting!
For those of you who don't know, I'm entering a base photography contest in a few weeks. Not sure which pictures to enter yet, but I'm working on it. I think this Friday and Saturday I'll drive around and find some shots to take. Since our printer is being all weird I'm going to have to save what I want, burn it to a cd and take it to Wally to print. We were looking online at the "professional" printers, just still not sure what would be best.
OH! Thanks for the suggestions for my rewards. I guess it's a good thing I asked, too. When I had my weigh in I'd hit the next goal marker! Yippee! I think I may have actually caught Steven for the first time in a long time. Must find time to walk today. Must send in registration and money for race. I've just been holding off hoping Steven could go ahead and register too. Pam, you coming?
Goals. We all need them. Makes the job that isn't so fun to "do" more fun to finish.
I have a list of goals for my little weightloss journey. I'm already down a good chunk. (GO ME) I've rewarded myself with each ten pound mark. Problem is, I'm having trouble coming up with rewards for the last ones. Camera is on my list. I know that's a big reward but we've been discussing getting a better one anyway so I thought I'd use that as incentive. Having my rings resized and reset, hopefully in a metal that I can't turn. This is an obvious need since as of now my rings are rather loose. However, I could just resize them and continue to change the hue of the metal to this lovely green it currently sports. Don't want to do that. I'm going to speak with the jeweler and ask if they have suggestions (a theme today?) for a metal that I can't turn. Platinum perhaps? I know that's expensive but if it means I won't have to have them replaced, I'll go for it.
If you had an AHA moment while reading this and said to yourself, "Well the chick's crazy but I just thought of a great idea for her rewards list!", let me know.
We spent almost all day yesterday working outside in the yard. Steven (with very little assistance) removed the four major holly bushes that surrounded our walkway from the driveway to the front door. What idget uses holly "stick me with each breath" bushes to have to walk beside every stinking day??? Got those pulled up and moved them to the back yard in the bed by the fence. Had to make a run to Home Depot in the middle of this escapade. Steven, believe it or not, broke his shovel handle trying to get those things out of the ground. But get this, Craftsman makes shovels! I had no idea. Yeah! Craftsman, the one that guarantees their tools and will replace them no matter what. Apparently my Aunt Sandra, gardening guru, had broken several shovels over the years. Seems she's a digger of proportions unknown. Finally, one day she found the shovel at Sears with a fiberglass handle. Not long after her purchase, she returned to Sears with a new broken handle. (What in the world was she digging up???) Craftsman replaced it lickety split! Guess where we'll be getting our next shovel?
In the cavernous holes that used to hold those sticky hollys, we planted some nice, small, mounding plants. Liriope, only our version is the silver snowdrop variegated, daylily, and some pansies.
Folks, my timer just went off, that's my computer time for the morning. I must wake the girls, feed them, dress them and head out to school.
I'm going to tackle our room today. I'll be taking before and after pictures for motivation.
The challenge is still on. If you'd like to see something we do, something from our house, etc. comment and I'll post pictures.
UPDATE:
Here are the before and after shots. Some of this stuff just doesn't have a home yet. This is as good as it gets considering. Remember to click the image for a larger view.
First shots are the right side of the computer desk. The first thing you see when you walk in my bedroom door. This computer desk will be moving into the office soon.
The left side of the desk, next to the closet.

Voila! Feels better in here even if it isn't finished.
-Toe not broken.
-Toe is sprained/bruised.
-practice 5k accomplished in 50 minutes flat baby!!
-Dance starts today for girls.
-Will be back to write more later.
Warning: The following entry reserves the right to use no turn signals when changing lanes or even pay heed to the traffic lights. All content is random. Contents under pressure. Do not puncture. Do not ingest.
I wander around with bits of blog entries floating in my brain, but unless I sit to write them right then and there, they disappear. When I do have the time (ha! a luxury) to sit down and write a full entry, my blank slate brain stares back at me, mocking me and taunting me.
Despite the lack of entries, my house is currently still in chaos. I simply have to get back to Flying again. I am, however, now fully confident that I will finish the November to Remember 5k in a respectable time. I may not win any awards or anything but I hope to achieve my first goal. Well, my second too if possible. Goal 1 - Finish a 5k. Goal 2 - Finish in under 50 minutes. Currently I can do it in about 53-55 minutes.
Katy gets her new glasses today. Purple Kim Possible frames with brand spankin' new scratch-free lenses. Let's see how long those make it before they are scratched.
I'm going to MOPS tomorrow with a friend. I've never been before (to this group anyway) and I hope I don't stand around all shy or act all goofy because I'm nervous.
Saturday night Steven and I are going out with teh friend mentioned above and her husband. Steven works with him and we've had them over a couple of times. We've always enjoyed ourselves when they're around, even when Ben "gestures emphatically" or teases about "rambunctious monkeys". Hopefully I can kick start my brain and come up with something fun.
Other than that, there are some things going on in the decision realm that are taking up most of my brain power. Despite the fact that the questions that can be answered now have been answered to the best of the answerer's ability, my brain continues to attempt to process information. Information of which I have little to choose from. So, pardon my (more than normal) goofiness for a bit. M'kay?

Ginny Owens To Trust You
I'm knocking on Your door,
Won't you answer?
I'm waiting for a word,
Or just a whisper;
But if You can't answer me this time,
I can handle everthing just fine
'Cause somehow I seem to think I have power,
And I know best how to make things better,
I try to carry everything alone,
But now the time has come to let go
To trust You with my life,
To believe You all the time,
And to leave my doubt behind,
Oh to trust You with my life.
Will I ever learn to stop and listen,
To keep knocking on Your door until it opens,
Teach me what it means to believe,
That You are strong enough to carry me
Oh, to trust You with my life,
To believe You all the time,
And to leave my doubt behind,
Oh, to trust You with my life.
And to give You everything,
All the deepest parts of me,
And to know You're always right,
To trust You with my life.
Broken here before You on my knees,
Is my only hope of finding peace
Ginny Owens Ordinary Day
I've lived a lot of life,
Seen so many things,
And I like to think,
Nothing surprises me,
So I try
To take it all in stride,
No matter what tomorrow brings
But Your plans for me
Aren't predictable,
And I find Your dreams
So incredible.
Never commonplace,
And in so many ways,
Always wild and wonderful
Oh, You keep me guessing,
Holding on tight
For the ride of my life
With You, all I can say,
There's no such thing as an ordinary day.
Since You write the script,
I must confess,
I don't always know
What will happen next,
Takes my breath away,
Takes a lot of faith,
'cause I don't know what to expect
Every time a new adventure unfolds,
I realize that I'm not the one in control
So, tell me, in the comments, what you want to see a picture of from our house, etc. I'll post them here.

I promise to take lots of pictures at the triathalon. We'll be back Sunday. If you need me, you know how to reach me.
Katy has her first fundraiser. It's for that special sale at McRae's Department store. Same fundraiser as last year. Kind of cool. But, well, only if you have a McRae's to go to. Tickets for the sale will be available up to the day OF the sale, November 20th. Let me know if you want one.
Emily's first one, well, technically second, is a Trike-A-Thon to raise money for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. They aren't going to actually count laps or anything, since we're talking about preschoolers here. What they do is ask for a flat donation. Then Emily does the laps and voila! Mucho mula raised for a great cause. Anyone interested in helping her out? The event is October 22nd so any donations would need to be here before then. If you're interested, let me know.
Oh. My. Word.
My local P*epsi distributor has stopped carrying the Ed*ge!! They said the product wasn't doing well for them since two new 7up products came out!
WHAT!!??
By the way, yes I did call and talk to the person who is responsible for this fiasco. His name was Mike and he was very friendly, even if he couldn't get it through his thick skull that I don't like asparatame and I really just want my Ed*ge back!
Dagnabbit.
"Mama, I sure do like that new kid at church." Emily began trying to describe her new friend by telling me what she had on, "a pretty blue shirt with flowers!" and how she was smaller than her. I asked Emily what the girl's name is and she didn't know. I asked what color hair she had, she didn't know. What color skin, didn't know. I love it that my kids are like that. They really don't even see color. They just see people. Friends. Playmates.
