What did I see this morning upon waking?
-A very anxious to go out puppy dog
-A very cranky kitty cat
-One bleary eyed, newly acquired suntanned me
-A bed full of daughters
-Oldest hanging off the left side of the bed
-Middle hanging off the right side of the bed
-Youngest spread between them sideways
-Head on Middle's stomach
-Legs thrown over Oldest's stomach
-And NO DIAPER ON HER BUM!!!
OY!
Spent a good deal of time outside yesterday. Girls splashed in the pool, Harley did his level best to get in with them. I finally got him interested elsewhere with his favorite past time. (This is the ONLY thing, outside of a walk, that will keep him interested in being outside.) I blew bubbles. I blew bubbles until I was flat out light headed. It was 9bajillion degrees outside and no room for mama in the pool so I was HOT! Oh, and we discovered that Harley likes popsicles. Grape ones. Especially when they belong to Lizzy and he can jump up and snatch them from her little fingers and runnnnnnn like the dickens. Silly boy.
Speaking of Lizzy, how in the world is it possible that she turns three on Friday????
The girls and I are visiting my family in Georgia. We'll be heading home early Sunday morning.
We've been taking it easy for the most part. Visiting, going to a surprise lunch for my brother who's graduating from high school. We're planning to set up the little pool today and the girls are going to splash around and get some sun. Mama could use a little sunshine herself.
We're all enjoying the visit. The girls and I are having a ball. Even the drive down here was fun. We had a few moments but anyone in a van for a full day (under the age of 10) would get antsy.
Not much else to tell. Katy's happily doing her schoolwork while we're here. She protested the first time she realized Emily and Lizzy were playing but when she realized the sooner she was done the sooner she could play, she jumped to it.
I'm reading the new Frank Peretti book Monster and it's gooooood. Scaring the bejeebers out of me and fascinating at the same time. I have to put it down before bed or I get all creeped out.
And, no jumping to conclusions or telling me we're nuts to be considering it or reminding me of the past history.....but everyone should go read Dana's post "Real Education". Because of the flak I've gotten in the past about this I feel it's important to remind you guys....I'm hard enough on myself. I really would appreciate any encouragement you might have. On the other hand, I really don't need any discouragement or naysaying. We're supposed to build one another up, edify, love, encourage, and listen to one another. Please think before you tell me we're wrong. M'kay?
Woke up to Lizzy having a runny nose and a cough. The runny nose is nothing new over the last few days. (I've run out of some of her supplements. OOPS!) However, this morning it was green.
Had planned to go to MOPS and give two clients their proof sheets. When I saw the green goop, plans changed. Off to pick up Xavier for carpool and what does his WONDERFUL mom do? She offers to keep Lizzy AND Emily while I go to MOPS. Afer asking her a thousand times if she was sure, off I went. They stayed and played with X's sister Rosie. I went and ended up giving out every single pricing sheet I'd brought (for pictures), about six business cards and had several people ask to book appointments! Of course, my calendar was sitting here on this desk rather than in my van. Heh. I'm getting to the point where I either need a bigger purse (YUCK!) or a briefcase or something similar.
Anxiously anticipating the summer! Only two more weeks of school!
The girls are going to take swim lessons over the summer and Katy is still asking about getting an "old fashioned piano or a new fashioned one" so I need to look into lessons for her. She's also challenged herself to read about 100 books this summer. Can we say "Mama's Kid"?
We've been through two pairs of panties, two changes of dress up clothes (and those were just the two I had to wash, I'm not counting the multiple changes just for fun), eaten breakfast in the van, had a snack, played computer, read three books to Emily, read a good chunk of a book of my own, and designated two dress up princesses.
Now, I'm off to clean my house. I have a session in the morning and she's bringing a friend so I need to get my house in order. I have another session tomorrow evening but if the weather doesn't hold up for the original idea of outdoor shots, we'll do them at the house. WOOT!
To do list:
-wash/dry/return to her bed all Katy's bed linens
-wash/dry/return to bathroom the floor mat that was pooped on
-make beds (mine/katy/emily/lizzy)
-straighten living room
-fold clothes on couch
-wash dishes
-clean counters
-thaw something for dinner
-vacuum
-sweep
-clean bathrooms (mine/girls)
-straighten studio
-move equipment to living room for session tomorrow
-read more books with girls
-smile
-enjoy my day
-find 30 minutes of me time
I know, I know. I was supposed to be off here. I'm not. Shaddup.
Spent the morning getting ready for Kari to come over. She did a Pampered Chef party for me. Had a LOT more people than I'd thought would come. It was great! She handled things so smoothly! There were a couple incidents that would have had me flustered and she handled them with grace and panache. GO KARI!!
Steven just went to help a friend pick up some bookshelves and deliver them to his house. The big girls are going to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Lizzy's eating yogurt and watching a few mintues of tv. I'm relaxing in the quiet for a few minutes.
Heading out to Bunko later. Ya know, I am so happy to have made friends here. They make me laugh, don't think I'm too incredibly weird. Well, if they do, they don't tell me. :) Sweet bunch of gals and I'm going to miss them all when we leave.
Only three more weeks until school's out! I'm so excited, for lots of reasons. I'm ready to spend some time with my girls, for one. Lizzy's birthday (and her Grandpa's) is on the last day of school. Katy's birthday is the second week of June. And! And! My mom comes to visit in June for TWO WEEKS!!
Did I mention that we have a sink hole in our backyard?? Yeah, Steven noticed it recently. Right next to the fence where we sit our garbage can a large hole just sunk down a good six inches and the hole itself is about twice as big as a dinner plate. Weird.
I wish that I had something a bit more witty to say. Or at least a more interesting way of telling the tid bits of our life but I don't. :)
Oh, I didn't tell you that I have four appointments over the next two weeks and a couple people mentioned today that they wanted to book appointments! So exciting and I'm just so tickled to have the opportunity. Thanks to all of you who read and have let me photography your families. What a blessing you've been to me.
I'm calling a self-imposed leave of absence from the internet for a while. Outside of my classwork and email, I won't be online. If you need me you can email or call me. Just need to get priorities straight.
